We got one more donation yesterday, raising our daily average to $30.83. Only a little over 1/3 of the roughly $81 per day that we need to average to reach our goal.
Through the first six days of the month, we've raised $185 on four donations. We need to raise $2,315 over the last 24 days of the month to reach our goal.
I want to extend a heart-felt thank you to the almost 160 people who have generously contributed to the Archive since we launched this fundraiser in April of 2022.

Individualism and the Western Liberal Tradition argues that ethnic influences are important for understanding the West. The prehistoric invasion of the Indo-Europeans had a transformative influence on Western Europe, inaugurating a prolonged period of what is labeled "aristocratic individualism" resulting from variants of Indo-European genetic and cultural influence. However, beginning in the seventeenth century and gradually becoming dominant was a new culture labeled "egalitarian individualism" which was influenced by preexisting egalitarian tendencies of northwest Europeans. The $85 we've raised over the first four days of the month represent a $21.25 daily average, which is only a little more than 1/4 of the roughly $81 per day that we need to average to reach our goal.

Nov 5Datacenters and IP transit providers who will put up with a barrage of abuse reports are few and demand incentive in order to put up with the non-stop abuse reporting. I can do what I can to reduce your cost of hosting this archive, but as with all things, you must make it worth their while to put up with the abusive abuse reporting that they MUST put up with. They are required by law to read every report sent to them and determine if they are valid (i.e. mostly legitimate looking but bogus copyright claims from the college educated pros) then make sure there are no actual copyright or DMCA violations. Having your domain in the DMCA safe harbor will go far, as the datacenters and IP transit providers can then offload the determination of validity for the claim to the safe harbor provider, who themselves accepts the legal liability for it. I will do what I can to reduce the cost but hosting your legal (but unwanted) content is going to be a bit expensive if you want to host it worry free. The "with worry and periodic downtime" method (what I call whack-a-mole) where you constantly jump from bucket account to bucket account as the account gets reported is cheaper, but a big pain in the ass as you must find new bucket providers in the third world, create and pay for accounts, then wait to be deleted and repeat. I don't recommend that method, but it is cheaper.
